Chris Oleson

Since 1999, Chris Oleson has been an associate professor of philosophy for the Legion of Christ at their Center for Higher Studies in Thornwood, New York.

He currently teaches courses on the history of ancient and modern philosophy, the philosophy of culture, and various topics in the area of moral and political philosophy. His particular research interests are focused on exploring how the insights of Platonic, Aristotelian, and Thomistic philosophy can provide solutions to contemporary intellectual problems. Through his involvement with the Westchester Institute, Dr. Oleson has also recently been thinking through various questions in bioethics.

He received his Ph.D. in philosophy from the Catholic University of America and a Master of Arts in Religion from Yale Divinity School. He lives with his wife, Rachel, in Brewster, NY. They have five children.
